The Yacht Gateway Desk for Sorong & Raja Ampat

Sorong has no international-standard yacht marina. What it has is Indonesia's official front door to Raja Ampat — commercial berths arranged case by case, anchorage, fuel, water, provisioning and an airport — and one accountable desk that knows the clearance order. We coordinate the port call; we do not operate a marina.

Straight answers first

What Sorong has — and what it does not

No yacht marina

No international-standard marina, no floating dock for yachts. Berthing means commercial quays arranged case by case, or anchoring in the roadstead. Anyone telling you otherwise has not been here.

Yes: the official gateway

A recognised port of entry with Quarantine, Immigration, Customs and Harbour Master on the ground, fuel and water by arrangement, full provisioning in the city, and Domine Eduard Osok Airport (SOQ) for crew and guests.

A desk, not infrastructure

Sorong Marina coordinates clearance, berthing, supply and turnaround — and advises on future marina development at the gateway. We schedule and supervise; we do not own the port.

The clearance flow

Five posts, one order — how a yacht clears at Sorong

The sequence below is where first-time entries lose days. The desk runs the posts against a single ETA so your crew clears once, in order. Detail: how the desk works.

01

Advance documents

Crew list, passports, last port, vessel papers and ETA sent ahead on WhatsApp, so every post expects you.

02

Quarantine

Health check of vessel and crew on arrival; free pratique before anyone else boards.

03

Immigration

Passports, visas and the crew list verified against the manifest.

04

Customs

Vessel declaration — the temporary-import instrument that lets the yacht itself stay legally.

05

Harbour Master & SPB

Port clearance signed by Syahbandar; the SPB in hand is your permission to sail for Raja Ampat.

Asked before every arrival

Frequently asked questions

Is there an actual marina in Sorong?

No. Sorong has no international-standard yacht marina or floating dock; visiting yachts use commercial berths arranged case by case or anchor in the roadstead. Sorong Marina is the coordination desk for that reality — and the advisory desk for anyone studying future marina development at the gateway.

Do I need an agent to clear into Indonesia at Sorong?

Not legally, for every yacht. An agent is strongly recommended for first Indonesia entries, superyachts, commercial charters and tight turnarounds, because scheduling four authorities against one ETA is where days are lost. We state this honestly and quote agency scope in USD.

What details should I send for a quote?

Vessel name, LOA and flag, ETA Sorong, last port, crew count, and what you need — clearance, fuel, water, provisioning, crew change or a full turnaround. Complete basics sent on a working day get a same-day USD structure reply on WhatsApp.

Can you support a liveaboard between charter trips?

Yes. Between-trip turnaround coordination — waste discharge, water, fuel, provisioning, crew rotation and guest turnover compressed into one pre-staged port day — is a core lane of the desk, including seasonal contracts for operators.
